Use the force...sensitive resistor! Add an easy-to-implement haptic analog sensor to your projects.

## Pricing

- **Price:** $8.20 (inc GST) — $7.45 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 5+ $7.31 (exc GST) · 15+ $7.08 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- In stock, ships same business day if ordered before 2PM (Australia/Sydney).
- We can dispatch 32 today; more stock is typically available with a 8–12 day lead time.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=CE09431:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/CE09431:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

Great for approximating how much pressure is being exerted an FSR is a very versatile sensor.

Use the pressure-resistance relationship in a voltage divider to sense the amount of pressure being exerted, and use an ADC to grab the value.

When no pressure is being applied the resistance is well over 1M ohm.

### Specifications

- Sensing area: 0.7mm (0.02")
- Pin pitch: 2.54mm (0.1")
- Sensing range: 100g-10kg

### Examples

#### Raspberry Pi Pico - Micropython

 ```
import machine
import utime
# Additional hardware
# * 1x 10k resistor
fsr = machine.ADC(28)
# A handy function for mapping values
def map_range(x, in_min, in_max, out_min, out_max):
    mapped = (x - in_min) * (out_max - out_min) / (in_max - in_min) + out_min
    return int(max(min(mapped, out_max), out_min))
while True:
    fsr_raw_reading = fsr.read_u16()
    fsr_filtered_reading = map_range(fsr_raw_reading, 1000, 9000, 0, 100)
    print(fsr_filtered_reading)
    utime.sleep(0.5)
```
