## Restrictions

**For use in Australia**

- Operate only in bands and with settings that are permitted for your location and application. Check this product’s supported frequencies in the description/specs.
- If you intend to operate outside shared/licence‑exempt conditions (e.g. in other bands, at higher power, with high‑gain antennas, or extended duty cycles), you must have the appropriate authorisation.

**For use in other regions**

- Follow the spectrum rules for your country/region and select frequencies and settings accordingly.

A declaration of use will need to be submitted during checkout.

## Description

A programmable LoRa handheld for sending voice and data over long distances. It brings together an ESP32-S3 microcontroller, a LoRa radio, voice audio hardware and a 1.54inch OLED screen in one enclosed unit.

A LoRa voice device normally means wiring a radio module, audio circuitry, a display and battery management together yourself. Here it's all integrated and cased, so you can go straight to writing firmware for long-range voice and data projects.

The LR1121 radio, on a Core1121 module, works in both the Sub-GHz and 2.4GHz bands. It supports both LoRa Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS) and Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS), so one device can test two bands and two spread-spectrum techniques.

You can program it in the Arduino IDE or ESP-IDF, and Waveshare's wiki has tutorials for both, including a walkie-talkie example. **This is the HF version for the 850–930 MHz band, supplied with a 3.7V 1500mAh lithium battery.**

### Features

- Talk over LoRa at the press of a button: a dedicated push-to-talk key, a dual-microphone array with echo cancellation and an onboard audio codec and amplifier handle voice capture and playback, and also suit speech-recognition and wake-word projects
- Secure and versatile radio: an integrated AES-128 encryption engine, plus support for receiving and decoding analogue walkie-talkie signals
- Headroom for audio and interface code: a dual-core ESP32-S3 at up to 240MHz with 16MB Flash and 8MB PSRAM, plus 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5
- Keep track of battery level and time: a BQ27220 fuel gauge and a PCF85063A RTC, with CHG/PWR status LEDs
- Build custom controls without extra hardware: four programmable buttons for menus, power and push-to-talk functions
- Add your own sensors and peripherals: two 6-pin SH1.0 connectors break out 5V, 3V3, GND, UART and spare ESP32-S3 and LR1121 GPIO
- Log data or store audio locally on the TF card slot
- Built for carrying around: the anodised CNC aluminium case resists wear and scratches, with separate SMA connectors for the omnidirectional LoRa whip and the Wi-Fi antenna
