## Description

Give your [Raspberry Pi 5](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi/raspberry-pi-5-boards-kits-and-accessories.html#category_4580) the a way to keep itself cool along with the rock-solid protection it deserves. Machined from aluminium, this two-part enclosure turns the entire case into a heatsink THEN added two fans to actively blow air over the hottest parts of the board.

A [passive](https://core-electronics.com.au/passive-pi-5-heatsink-case-black.html) and [single-fan](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-5-single-fan-case-black.html) edition is also available for those who like their Pi quieter.

### What’s in the box?

- **Dual fans** – Actively push air across the fins of the heatsink, the fans connect easily through the Pi 5's fan connector

### Assembly (5 minutes, tool included)

1. **Power down &amp; unplug** your Pi 5.
2. **Apply thermal pad**: peel both films and place the pad on the CPU. Add a second pad on the RAM and other ICs if you’d like extra coverage.
3. **Sandwich the board**: align the top shell (fins up) over the CPU, position the bottom shell beneath the board, and hold together.
4. **Bolt it up** with the supplied hex screws.
5. **Connect the Fan**
 
### Using HATs &amp; add-ons

Because the case hugs the Pi, standard HATs will need [2×20 header extenders](https://core-electronics.com.au/stacking-2x20.html) or a [ribbon cable](https://core-electronics.com.au/raspberry-pi-b-gpio-ribbon-cable-40-pin-6.html) to clear the case.
