## Description

The Gravity CT1780 is a cold-junction compensated thermocouple amplifier that makes monitoring extreme temperatures from -270°C to +1372°C straightforward and scalable. It accurately digitizes signals from a K-Type thermocouple, providing 0.25°C resolution, and transmits the data over a simple 1-Wire communication bus. This 1-Wire protocol allows multiple sensors to be daisy-chained on a single data line, perfect for monitoring various zones in industrial ovens, ceramic kilns, or scientific flame analysis. An integrated DIP switch further simplifies identifying individual sensors in a multi-point network, making complex setups manageable.

**Simplified Multi-Point Sensing with 1-Wire Protocol**

Similar to the widely adopted DS18B20, the CT1780 amplifier utilizes the 1-Wire communication interface. This design drastically simplifies system wiring, requiring only a single data line to connect multiple sensors to a host controller. This architecture is ideal for projects that demand temperature monitoring across several distributed points over a wide area, as it conserves microcontroller I/O pins and reduces wiring complexity.

**Effortless Sensor Identification with Onboard DIP Switch**

A common challenge in multi-sensor arrays is identifying which physical sensor corresponds to a specific data reading. The CT1780 solves this by integrating an onboard DIP switch. In addition to the unique 64-bit address inherent to the 1-Wire protocol, this switch allows for the setting of a simple, user-defined address. When multiple CT1780 units are connected in parallel, this feature enables straightforward visual identification of the sensor currently providing the temperature reading, streamlining setup and debugging processes.

**Ultra-Wide Measurement Range for Extreme Environments**

Engineered for demanding thermal applications, the amplifier supports the full K-Type thermocouple measurement range from -270°C to +1372°C. The onboard cold-junction compensation ensures high accuracy across this spectrum, achieving a measurement error of =±2°C within the critical -200°C to 700°C range. With a 14-bit resolution (0.25°C), the module provides the precision needed for process control and monitoring in extreme temperature environments.
