# DeskPi Lite Case for Raspberry Pi 4

**Type:** Product page · **SKU:** CE10315 · **Brand:** [52Pi](https://core-electronics.com.au/brands/52pi-australia)
**Page:** https://core-electronics.com.au/deskpi-lite-case-for-raspberry-pi-4.html ([markdown](https://core-electronics.com.au/deskpi-lite-case-for-raspberry-pi-4.html.md))

Turn a bare Raspberry Pi 4 into a tidy desktop box, with every cable at the back, active cooling and a proper power button.

## Pricing

- **Price:** $56.10 (inc GST) — $51.00 AUD, exc GST

## Availability & dispatch

- Out of stock — the product page offers email notification when it returns.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=CE10315:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/CE10315:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

A compact desktop enclosure that turns a bare Raspberry Pi 4 into a tidy, set-top-box style mini computer.

The Pi 4's micro-HDMI, audio and power ports sit on different edges of the board, so cables end up going everywhere. An internal adapter board fixes this by moving them to the rear panel, converting both micro-HDMI outputs to full-size HDMI. Everything plugs in from one side, and you can use standard HDMI cables with no adapters.

Inside, a CNC aluminium heatsink with a PWM-controlled fan keeps the CPU cool under sustained load. You can control it with the official Raspberry Pi OS fan setting or with your own script. A front power button with safe shutdown, plus an Always-On switch, makes it equally at home as a media box or a headless home server.

Getting started:

- Apply the thermal pads, fit the heatsink and fan, then seat the Pi on the port adapter board
- Add `dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=host` to config.txt and reboot to enable the front USB ports and safe power-off
- Turn on fan control in `raspi-config` under Performance Options > P4 Fan (GPIO14)
- Install the DeskPi v1 driver scripts from GitHub to set up the power button

Note: DeskPi currently advises against the Raspberry Pi OS 2025-05-13 release, because a CH341 driver issue affects the case's power-control features. Check the DeskPi GitHub page for the latest compatibility status.

### Features

- Clean cable runs, with both HDMI outputs, 3.5 mm audio and USB-C power moved to the rear panel
- Run two displays from standard full-size HDMI cables, with no micro-HDMI adapters needed
- Two extra USB 2.0 ports on the front for thumb drives, keyboards and other peripherals
- Keeps the CPU cool under load, thanks to a CNC aluminium heatsink with a PWM fan
- Choose how the fan behaves: the official raspi-config temperature threshold, or your own Python script for a custom fan curve
- Shut down safely from the front power button, with programmable power cut-off from the onboard controller
- Always-On switch (enable/disable) for unattended server and set-top-box use
- GPIO stays accessible through the heatsink's edge expansion board, with a rubber dust cover to keep debris out
- Built-in 5V/GND socket for powering an extra 5V device
- Front power and disk-activity LEDs show status at a glance
- Uses the same driver as the DeskPi Pro
- Rubber feet keep it planted on the desk
