This connector adapts a 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC barrel plug to a pair of screw terminals. The terminals are labeled positive and negative, with the positive terminal connected to the center contact.

## Description

Most sources refer to this style of connector as “male”, but since it has a female basket at its center, some will refer to it as “female”.
