## Pricing

- **Price:** $18.25 (inc GST) — $16.59 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 10+ $16.09 (exc GST) · 50+ $15.76 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- In stock, ships same business day if ordered before 2PM (Australia/Sydney).
- We can dispatch 1 today, and up to 500 more in 8–12 days.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=ADA5463:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/ADA5463:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

This rubber sheet is made of the same carbon-black impregnated rubber material that Adafruit's [conductive rubber cord uses](https://core-electronics.com.au/conductive-rubber-cord-stretch-sensor-extras.html). Traditionally it would be used for EMF shielding, or conductive gaskets - but it's very fun to play with and we think it makes for an interesting stretch sensor or maybe a conductive material that is soft and conforming.

In a 'relaxed' state, [the bulk sheet resistivity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheet_resistance) is about 70 ohm\*meters. As you pull on it, the resistance increases (the particles get further apart). You can stretch the rubber about 50-70% longer than the resting length, so a 6" piece shouldn't be stretched more than 10". Once the force is released, the rubber will shrink back, although its not very 'fast' and it takes a minute or two to revert to its original length. It's not a true linear sensor, and the resistance may vary from batch to batch, so we consider it a way to measure stretching motion but isn't really precise. This stuff is fun, so we give you a 200mm by 200mm square with 1mm thickness. You can easily cut this material with scissors or a die. [You can use it as a conductor or add a 100 ohm resistor as a divider](https://core-electronics.com.au/through-hole-resistors-100-ohm-5-1-4w-pack-of-25.html), then use Adafruit's handy Thermistor tutorial to measure the analog voltage and convert that back to resistance.
