uGateway is a full 8-Channel LoRaWAN Gateway. It's low cost, built with popular maker hardware and preconfigured.
The only setup needed is connecting to your WiFi network, though we've put some guides together below to help you with that. Once done, it'll service several hundred meters with an indoor setup (included in the kit). The range will go into the KMs when paired with an external Antenna (sold separately).
Here in Newcastle, we use and prefer the LoRaWAN AS923 band plan (instead of AU915). That's because it's simpler to setup remote devices and there is more support for off the shelf products. You can change it to AU915 if you like; we'll put together a guide to help.
You'll need a 5V 2+Amp power supply. We recommend the Official Raspberry Pi Power Supply, it'll do the job just fine.
To update the WiFi password, you will also need (we will make a guide for this):
- Mini HDMI to Standard HDMI Adaptor
- USB OTG Cable
- A HDMI compatible screen (just as your computer monitor)
- A USB keyboard and mouse
Once the WiFI password has been configured, the above accessories are not needed. Upon powerup, the uGateway will automatically connect and start doing what it does.
