Retro enthusiasts, hold onto your hats because we've got the best retro gaming case ever made for Raspberry Pi! Say hello to the NESPi by Retroflag. The NESPi is a case for the Raspberry Pi and is the ultimate gaming companion for the current Pi 3. It's is the perfect gift for any vintage gaming enthusiast thanks to the USB, Ethernet and power ports, along with POWER and RESET hardware switches.

It has been meticulously designed to invoke the nostalgic joy of retro gaming systems, but with all the modern features you'd expect. Plug in your wired USB controllers using the two exposed USB ports, and add another two, as well as Ethernet, via the hinged port cover on the top. Simply mount your Raspberry Pi board (Model B or B+, not included) inside, connect up the internal cables, and you've got a retro gaming station that looks the part.

To create a RetroPie setup, at a minimum, you'll need a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, a Power Supply, a controller, and a RetroPie micro SD card. If you're looking for a kit that bundles the NESPi with everything you need, then check out our Ultimate Retro Game Console Kit.

Connectivity and Cooling

Connecting your Pi up inside the case is easy. Just plug the Ethernet, USB and GPIO pins in, and you're ready to go. There's also room to mount a 30mm fan inside for additional cooling plus plenty of room for mounting a heatsink. If you'd like to learn more about cooling your Pi and whether you need a heatsink or a fan, take a look at our tutorial for Cooling your Raspberry Pi.

  • Mass SD card Image Writer
  • We've built a mass SD card writer using a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, some USB hubs and SD card readers. This beast has enough ports to write 49 SD cards at once! At Core Electronics, sometimes logistics hang-ups mean that suppliers cannot meet our demand for pre-flashed SD cards. During these periods we have to pick up the slack by manually imaging blank SD cards we source ourselves. Of course, this is a super-tedious process, and ...

Cool case for Pi gaming (Posted on 9/07/2018)

  2. Review by Thomas verified purchaser

Has to be the best raspberry pi case out there. Took no time to fit the Pi 3 Model B+ and a previously purchased fan and was in retro game mode. Well worth the price for a retro gamer, or even just as a home for your Pi. (Posted on 30/04/2018)

  3. Review by Marcus verified purchaser

A++. Easy to mount (and the videos on the page were really helpful). Also, this is the real deal - there are KOs out there, and the Core team were able to confirm this for me online (having bought one elsewhere, and getting a KO). (Posted on 19/04/2018)

  4. Review by Todd verified purchaser

Great case, power and reset buttons are solid and plenty of usb ports for controllers (Posted on 19/04/2018)

  5. Review by Matthew verified purchaser

At first I thought it would be cheap build quality, but I was pleasantly surprised in the quality of the case's construction. Bundle this with a R-Pi 3B or 3B+ and you're laughing - DIY cheaper NES Mini than trying to find one through other outlets. (Posted on 18/04/2018)

  6. Review by Jason verified purchaser

Great case - really looks the part (Posted on 6/04/2018)

  7. Review by Richard verified purchaser

Fantastic case, air vents at top a little small so don't use a fan in there, too noisy. I just used heatsinks. (Posted on 3/04/2018)

  8. Review by Matt verified purchaser

Just what we were after, Retro Pi's gonna look and run cool now (Posted on 29/03/2018)

  9. Review by Clint verified purchaser

Great case for my pi! (Posted on 27/03/2018)

  11. Review by Michael verified purchaser

A great looking product that adds a bit of retro gaming flair to your Raspberry Pi. Only issue I had was that some of the included screws didn’t tighten easily enough, so it was a mission to mount the Pi. Once that was done though, it was smooth sailing. (Posted on 20/03/2018)

  12. Review by Nathan verified purchaser

Best Pi 3 B case for retro gaming, both physically and aesthetically!
Also more functionality for desktop PC use with the power and reset buttons being so handy.
Storage for your other operating systems/Micro SD cards underneath. (Posted on 31/01/2018)

  13. Review by Robert verified purchaser

Awesome little case for the Raspberry Pi. Case seems solid. The pi fitted in snugly and all of the extra ports work just fine. Two screws for fastening the Pi were missing but it didnt cause an issue. (Posted on 29/01/2018)

  14. Review by Alan verified purchaser

Exactly what it says it is. Looks great. (Posted on 26/01/2018)

  15. Review by Iain verified purchaser

Awesome product, the design work and thinking behind this is outstanding. Takes me back to the good old days and is really easy to put together. Fantastic price for something that makes home-brew games feel a lot more professional. (Posted on 25/01/2018)
