## Pricing

- **Price:** $57.55 (inc GST) — $52.32 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 6+ $49.70 (exc GST) · 12+ $47.61 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- Out of stock — the product page offers email notification when it returns.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=TOY0084-LITE-EC:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/TOY0084-LITE-EC:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

#### Introduction

We all know how do earthquakes occur and what destruction they cause. But as for now, we cannot predict exactly when an earthquake will happen. So the earthquake-resistant design is becoming the new form in most earthquake-prone cities.

**This earthquake working model, made of BOSON Smart Science Kit-Earthquake Challenge, is well applicable to study how to improve the buildings earthquake proof level.**

**[Build & Test Earthquake Proof Buildings | BOSON Smart Science Projects](https://youtu.be/EWlnYXfWSHI)**

This earthquake working mode combines a shake table and earth-proof structures from simple materials and BOSON modules.

The model simulates seismic ground motion during an earthquake. With a rotation sensor, you can change the speed of the motor to generate movement at different frequencies. It will be inspiring to test the effect of short and high-frequency earthquakes on buildings.

A nature earthquake creates motions on 3 axes, but since our shake table is moving along the same direction, it will be easy to measure the acceleration on the X-axis with a micro:bit, to give you an accurate result of how strong the earthquake is. Fix the micro:bit at the top of the building, plug it with your computer, open Mind+, and let the data fly.

Then, we can try different shapes/heights/weights to figure out the best solution to earthquake-proof structures.

**Note:** Not include materials like micro:bit, Box & Cardboard, Straws, Pipe cleaners, Bottle caps, Bubber bans, Thumbtack, etc.
