## Description

A warm, light-toned hardwood plywood made for clean cutting and engraving on consumer [laser machines](https://core-electronics.com.au/laser-cutters.html). At 3mm, this 600 x 300mm Birch Laserply sheet is the range's all-rounder - the sheet to default to when you don't yet know what the next project is.

Birch is a true hardwood, and denser than the pine and basswood options. That density is what you feel during assembly rather than during the cut: small teeth, thin tabs and narrow spans hold their shape instead of flexing, and edges stay crisp when handling. It makes birch the pick for parts that do a job - jigs, gear trains, boxes, mechanism plates and anything that gets used more than once.

The face is a soft golden-cream with light patterns, a warmer hue rather than stark, and takes stain and clear finishes particularly well. Though there are two things to weigh up: that figure adds character but means engraved tone varies slightly across a panel, so basswood is the better choice for photographic raster work. And Birch costs more than Radiata - worth it when the part matters, but less so when you're still guessing.

### Laser Cutting Plywood

Every sheet in this range is manufactured void-free, so the laser beam meets consistent material wherever it cuts: no bubbling, no blown-out patches, and laser setting profiles that hold from one sheet to the next. The range is pressed in Melbourne using formaldehyde-free adhesives, removing one major source of fumes - which counts in classrooms, design studios and shared workshops. Timber is sourced from FSC-certified or sustainably managed forests.

### Choose Your Sheet

#### Pale, and Easy on the Wallet

- [**Radiata 3mm**](https://core-electronics.com.au/radiata-laserply-600-x-300mm-3mm.html) - The value option - softwood, light blonde, plainest face, lowest price in the range.
- [**Basswood 3mm**](https://core-electronics.com.au/basswood-laserply-600-x-300mm-3mm.html) - Near-white and almost grainless behind a clear A-grade face. Holds the finest detail.
- [**Birch 3mm**](https://core-electronics.com.au/birch-laserply-600-x-300mm-3mm.html) - Warm, light and harder-wearing - the versatile hardwood all-rounder.
- [**Birch 6mm**](https://core-electronics.com.au/birch-laserply-600-x-300mm-6mm.html) - The same material at double the thickness - for joints, enclosures and stronger projects.

#### Colour and Character

- [**Jarrah 3mm**](https://core-electronics.com.au/jarrah-laserply-600-x-300mm-3mm.html) - Rich terracotta red - Australian hardwood, and the boldest colour here.
- [**Walnut 3mm**](https://core-electronics.com.au/american-walnut-laserply-600-x300mm-3mm.html) - Deep rich brown - the showpiece sheet.
- [**Eucalypt 3mm**](https://core-electronics.com.au/eucalypt-laserply-600-x-300mm-3mm.html) - Earthy, figured Australian grain behind an A-grade face.
- [**Bamboo 2.5mm**](https://core-electronics.com.au/bamboo-laserply-carbonised-600-x300mm-25mm.html) - Carbonised to a dark caramel-brown that emphasises its very unique and fine grain. Great sustainability.
