# Analog Sound Sensor

**Type:** Product page · **SKU:** DFR0034 · **Brand:** [DFRobot](https://core-electronics.com.au/brands/dfrobot-australia)
**Page:** https://core-electronics.com.au/analog-sound-sensor.html ([markdown](https://core-electronics.com.au/analog-sound-sensor.html.md))

This is an updated version of the Analog Sound Sensor. Analog Sound Sensor is typically used in detecting the loudness in ambient, the Arduino can collect its output signal by imitating the input interface.

## Pricing

- **Price:** $6.90 (inc GST) — $6.27 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 6+ $5.96 (exc GST) · 12+ $5.71 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- In stock, ships same business day if ordered before 2PM (Australia/Sydney).
- We can dispatch 2 today, and up to 1300 more in 8–12 days.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=DFR0034:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/DFR0034:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

This is a new Analog Sound Sensor compatible with [Arduino](https://www.dfrobot.com/topic-277.html). Sound Sensor is typically used in detecting the loudness in ambient, the Arduino can collect its output signal and actuate accordingly. You may use it to make some funny interactive works such as a "clap and buzz" to find your lost keys or remote control if you add a buzzer. This sensor works best with our [Audio analyzer](https://www.dfrobot.com/product-514.html) module.
As one of our new version of breakout boards, we have improved the analog [sound sensor](https://www.dfrobot.com/category-63.html) in below:

- Wide voltage range from 3.3V to 5V
- Standard assembling structure (two 3mm holes with multiple of 5cm as interval)
- Easily recognitive interfaces of sensors ("A" for analog and "D" for digital)
- Icons to simply illustrate sensor function
- High-quality connector
- Immersion gold surface

The [IO expansion shield](https://www.dfrobot.com/product-1009.html) is the best match for this sound senor connecting to your Arduino. This sound sensor can work at 3.3V which makes it compatible with [Raspberry Pi](https://www.dfrobot.com/category-157.html), [intel edison](https://www.dfrobot.com/category-187.html), joule, and curie.
