- **Quantity discounts:** 10+ $46.56 (exc GST) · 50+ $45.60 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- Available with a lead time — expect dispatch between Aug 19 and Aug 24.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=ADA5182:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/ADA5182:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

The AM2315C is a nice, enclosed temperature and humidity sensor [from the same folks that brought Adafruit the AM2315](https://core-electronics.com.au/am2315-encased-i2c-temperature-humidity-sensor.html). In fact, this enclosed sensor looks an *awful lot* like the popular AM2315 temperature and humidity sensors, but [inside is the AHT20](https://core-electronics.com.au/adafruit-aht20-temperature-humidity-sensor-breakout-board-stemma-qt-qwiic.html).

You can power it with anything from 2.5V to 5.5V so it's good with 3V or 5V microcontrollers. You can take sensor readings as often as you like, and it uses standard I2C so it's super easy to use with any Arduino or Linux/Raspberry Pi board.Whew, that makes things a little easier, doesn't it?

While it is not rated as 'weatherproof', this sensor would do much better for sensing where there might be wind, rain, zombies, etc. than SHT PCB-breakout sensors, and the I2C interface makes it easier to interface with microcomputers that can't do the delicate timing of DHT sensors.

This sensor has a typical accuracy of ±2% relative humidity, and ±0.3 °C at 20-80% RH and 20-60 °C. There is only one I2C address so it's not a good option when you need multiple humidity sensors.

That said, for maker and IoT projects? You can't beat the simplicity and price! And Adafruit have got ready-to-go working Arduino and CircuitPython code to use it. **[Check out Adafruit's detailed guide for library code, datasheet, and more](https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-aht20)**

Each order comes with one AM2315C sensor with built-in pullups. You just provide any microcontroller that can run Adafruit's Arduino or CircuitPython library.
