# Adjustable Infrared Sensor Switch (50cm)

**Type:** Product page · **SKU:** SEN0164 · **Brand:** [DFRobot](https://core-electronics.com.au/brands/dfrobot-australia)
**Page:** https://core-electronics.com.au/adjustable-infrared-sensor-switch-50cm.html ([markdown](https://core-electronics.com.au/adjustable-infrared-sensor-switch-50cm.html.md))

This adjustable infrared sensor features a high-sensitivity photoreflector to perform distance detection function, ranging from 3cm to 50cm. When the infrared light emitted by the emitter gets reflected on a surface that blocked it, the phototransistor can pick up the signal for distance calculation.

## Pricing

- **Price:** $11.25 (inc GST) — $10.23 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 6+ $9.72 (exc GST) · 12+ $9.31 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- In stock, ships same business day if ordered before 2PM (Australia/Sydney).
- We can dispatch 2 today, and up to 55 more in 8–12 days.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=SEN0164:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/SEN0164:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)

## Description

Introduction

This adjustable infrared sensor features a high-sensitivity photoreflector to perform distance detection function, ranging from 3cm to 50cm. When the infrared light emitted by the emitter gets reflected on a surface that blocked it, the phototransistor can pick up the signal for distance calculation. Also a potentiometer for adjustment is arranged for easy and clear use. Compared with regular infrared sensor switch,it has advantages in distance, low interference by visible light, affordable, easy to assemble, easy to use, and can be widely used in robot obstacle avoidance, assembly lines and many other occasions. The obstacle detection distance can be adjusted with a potentiometer in copper screw, once done adjusting(e.g. max 60cm), the sensor will output low flat within the effective distance (e.g. obstructions at 40cm & 10cm ) to the microcontroller. Specification - Power supply: 5V
- Control Outout:100mA when supply 5V
- Circuit consume: <25mA
- Response time: <2ms
- Direction: ≤15°
- Range: 3~50cm adjustable for opacity and transparent objects
- Shell marterial:plastic
- A low voltage output will be given when a object is in its detecting scope
- When connect to MCU pins, you need to add an 1~10K Ohm resistor for pull-up
- Sharp: 30mm(length) x 20mm(wide) x 13mm(thickness) with a 45cm lead wire
