If you are feeling the stress and strain of a Wheatstone bridge and you want to quantify it, this handy breakout will do the job, no sweat!

## Pricing

- **Price:** $10.95 (inc GST) — $9.95 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 10+ $9.65 (exc GST) · 50+ $9.45 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- In stock, ships same business day if ordered before 2PM (Australia/Sydney).
- We can dispatch 1 today, and up to 75 more in 8–12 days.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=ADA4538:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/ADA4538:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)
- **Payment methods, purchase orders, policies and contact details:** https://core-electronics.com.au/llms.txt
## Description

If you are feeling the stress and strain of modern life a Wheatstone bridge and you want to quantify it, this handy breakout will do the job, no sweat! The **Adafruit NAU7802** contains a super-high-resolution 24-Bit differential ADC with extra gain and calibration circuitry that makes it perfect for measuring strain gauges / load cells or other sensors that have four wires that are connected in a [Wheatstone bridge arrangement](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheatstone_bridge).

Each breakout comes with a NAU7802 ADC chip, plus some support circuitry, and 6 terminal blocks that can be used to connect a 4-wire or 6-wire sensor.

The **E-** pad connects to ground (often a black wire), the **E+** pad connects to a generated voltage from the NAU7802 that can be configured from 2.4V to 4.0V for a solid positive reference (often a red wire).

Then **A-** and **A+** pads connect to the differential outputs from the bridge. For example, connecting to a strain gauge these tend to be the white and green wires. There's also a secondary **B+/B-** port if you need to measure a second bridge.

As the sensor is twisted and bent, the slight changes in resistance are converted to minuscule voltage changes that can be read by the NAU ADC for converting into force or mass measurements. You can use our [Arduino library](https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_NAU7802) or [CedarGrove's CircuitPython/Python library](https://github.com/CedarGroveStudios/CircuitPython_NAU7802) to configure and read the ADC for fast interfacing. Note that this sensor has a fixed I2C address,[ if multiple sensors are desired on one I2C bus, a multiplexer can be used](https://learn.adafruit.com/working-with-multiple-i2c-devices).

**As of June 23rd, 2025 –** By popular demand! We've updated this design to expose the 'second' ADC input (B+ and B-), so we've updated this PCB to now come with a 6-pin terminal block port, instead of 4-pin.
