# 2A Motor Shield for Arduino Twin

**Type:** Product page · **SKU:** DRI0017 · **Brand:** [DFRobot](https://core-electronics.com.au/brands/dfrobot-australia)
**Page:** https://core-electronics.com.au/2a-motor-shield-for-arduino-twin.html ([markdown](https://core-electronics.com.au/2a-motor-shield-for-arduino-twin.html.md))

Arduino product family is a great learning platform for electronics, programming and robotics. But most projects at some point require mobility. This motor shield allows Arduino to drive two channel DC motors. It uses a L298P chip which deliveries output current up to 2A each channel. Stack up this shield on your controller and drive motors with higher power requirements. Depending on the motor of choice, you can make it fast or handle a higher payload. This Arduino Compatible Motor Shield (2A) uses L298P chip which allow to drive two 7-12V DC motors with maximum 2A current. This shield can be directly mounted onto standard Arduino Duemilanove and Arduino Mega.

## Pricing

- **Price:** $27.65 (inc GST) — $25.14 AUD, exc GST
- **Quantity discounts:** 6+ $23.88 (exc GST) · 12+ $22.87 (exc GST)

## Availability & dispatch

- Available with a lead time — expect dispatch between Aug 25 and Aug 31.

## How to buy

- **Build a cart:** compose `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link?items=DRI0017:1` (comma-separated SKU:qty pairs) and share the link. Opening it shows a confirmation page with live pricing and stock before anything is added to the cart.
- **Verify the cart first:** fetch `https://core-electronics.com.au/cart/link/DRI0017:1.md` for live line prices (inc & exc GST, quantity discounts applied), stock and dispatch estimates, and totals. Append `/to/{AU-postcode}` (or `/to/{country-code}:{postcode}`) before `.md` for delivery options and prices to that destination. Unknown, retired, or out-of-stock SKUs are flagged. (Query form `cart/link.md?items=...` also works but some robots parsers refuse query strings here.)
- **Checkout** is completed on-site and includes a captcha at the payment step. Share the cart link; checkout takes it from there.
- **Search the catalogue:** `https://core-electronics.com.au/search/{query}.md` (URL-encode the query; pages 2-3 at `search/{query}/{page}.md`; `search.md?q=` also works)
- **Payment methods, purchase orders, policies and contact details:** https://core-electronics.com.au/llms.txt
## Description

Speed control is achieved through conventional PWM which can be obtained from Arduino’s PWM output Pin 10 and 11. The enable/disable function of the motor control is signalled by Arduino Digital Pin 12 and 13. The Motor shield can be powered directly from Arduino or from external power source. It is strongly encouraged to use external power supply to power the motor shield.
