## Description

This 40 Tooth, MOD 0.8 Steel Pinion Gear has an 8mm REX™ bore for positive drive on goBILDA® signature 8mm REX™ profile shafting.

A MOD 0.8 gear with 80 teeth or 20 teeth is the perfect partner for this gear when you’re building on the goBILDA® pattern and want to create a 2:1 ratio (at either a distance of 48mm or 24mm, respectively). Of course, this gear can mesh with any MOD 0.8 gear to produce an underdrive or overdrive ratio—depending on if you’d like to increase the speed, or maximize torque—and it goes without saying that you can retain the same speed and torque in the motion transfer the via a good ol’ 1:1 ratio with a fellow 40 tooth gear!

The built-in shim on the bottom of the gear provides clearance for the outer race of the bearing. Similarly, the counterbore on the top of the gear provides the same built-in convenience when the gear is oriented such that the teeth of the gear are nearest the bearing.
