## Description

A deserializer board that brings long-cable GMSL cameras to your single-board computer.

GMSL cameras send video and data down one coaxial or twisted-pair cable, so they can sit far from the computer with little latency or interference. At the centre of this board, a Maxim MAX9296A deserializer receives the camera links and passes the video to your host.

It also feeds 12 V Power over Coax to the cameras from the board's own supply, so one power connection runs the whole camera setup.

It works with the Waveshare GMSL 1MP Camera (A) and other GMSL cameras, for driver-assistance, smart-factory and smart-city builds. Cameras and the host computer are sold separately.

Hardware setup:

- Connect your GMSL cameras to the FAKRA Z inputs.
- Link the board to your host's CSI port(s).
- Power the board with 5 V through the PH2.0 3-pin cable.
- Set the CFG switch for your cameras.

Prefer a deserializer that stacks on the 40-pin header? Choose the Waveshare 2-Channel GMSL Camera HAT.

### Features

- **Free-standing layout:** mounts separately from your host, so you can place it wherever your enclosure or vehicle layout allows. A screw pack is included.
- **Both cables in the box:** two FFC cables are included, so you can use both 4-lane MIPI CSI outputs without buying extra cables.
- **Configure in hardware or software:** the CFG switch sets the default serializer I2C address and link rate at power-up, and software can overwrite these settings once running. Works with GMSL2 and GMSL1 cameras.
- **Wide camera choice:** pairs with cameras built on MAX9295, MAX96717, MAX96705 and similar serializers.
