## Description

A relay is an electrically operated switch, which uses a small electromagnetic coil to pull a set of contacts together inside the relay, completing a circuit.

Relays are used where it is necessary to control a large electrical load with a low-power signal (with complete electrical isolation between control and controlled circuits), or where several circuits must be controlled by one signal.

This relay would be a good choice for controlling lighting, solenoid valves, motors, or other high current/voltage devices from a microcontroller.
