## Description

This 312mm Length 12mm REX™ Shaft is a hefty solution for fierce positive drive! You can use it to drive heavy-duty 12mm REX™ bore motion components, such as hubs and sprockets, throughout the goBILDA® build system.

12mm **REX*™***  combines a 12mm **R**ound profile with an 11mm h**EX** profile to give you the best of both worlds: positive drive, plus the capacity to run smoothly in conventional round bearings. 12mm REX™ is the large-scale big brother to the ever-popular 8mm REX™ profile (a star of the everyday builds that don’t go quite as big).

The 12mm diameter provides plenty of clearance for the shaft to pass through any goBILDA® 14mm center hole. We offer a variety of super-sized bearings and pillow blocks that can easily support this super-sized shaft.

The E-clip on this 2109 Series Shaft provides constraint in one direction, such as against a ball bearing. There are two retaining ring grooves where you can install the E-clip.

- At the “factory” location where the E-clip arrives pre-installed, **10mm of shaft is available past the E-clip**. This provides for the shaft, past the E-clip, to nestle into a bearing.
- If you install the E-clip in the alternate location, the amount of shaft past the E-clip will be lessened to provide greater clearance. This position measures **4mm from the far side of the E-clip** and leaves the long side of the shaft with a nice whole-number length!

Each end of the shaft has an M4 threaded hole. This versatile feature means you can use the shaft as a standoff. You can also insert a screw (and washer, if needed) to constrain a component to the end of the shaft.
